leather dreams is a mixed-genre collection exploring leather as a distinctly queer liberatory culture and folklore through personal essays, vignettes, and biomythography in the morphology of folktale. through lyric, visceral storytelling, often in dialogue with leather ancestors, elders, and a vision of our next generations still to come, the work explores the interpersonal culture of purposeful power cocreated within leather communities as an actual and potential tool for challenging and resisting the power of systemic oppression. to understand leather as folklore, and to craft stories of leatherqueer eroticism and freedom as folklore is to activate the ancient technology of the genre: to codify, transmit, and make seductive our particular ways of being human and in relationship, for the purposes of perpetuating and transmitting culture. agents, editors, and publishers are welcome to inquire about leather dreams!
